Clinical Hypnotherapy in Bridlington

Clinical hypnotherapy is a gentle way of working with your mind to support change. It is very different from stage hypnosis you might see on television. You stay in control at all times. You can choose what to work on, and you can stop or pause the session whenever you wish.
At Tailored Counselling Solutions in Bridlington, clinical hypnotherapy is an optional service. It is not a replacement for counselling, but it can be a helpful extra tool for certain issues.

What Is Clinical Hypnotherapy?

Clinical hypnotherapy uses guided relaxation and focused attention to help you reach a calm, comfortable state. In this state, your mind can be more open to positive suggestions and new ways of thinking.
You are not asleep and not under anyone’s control. You can still hear, think and choose throughout the session. Many people describe it as feeling deeply relaxed, a little like drifting off while still being aware.

What Can Hypnotherapy Help With?

Clinical hypnotherapy may be helpful if you want support with things like:
Anxiety and worry
Phobias (for example, flying, spiders, needles or heights)
Habits you want to change
Confidence and self-esteem
Stress and tension
Sleep difficulties
Sometimes hypnotherapy is used on its own. At other times, it sits alongside counselling as part of a tailored plan, to support the changes you are already working on in therapy.

What Happens in a Hypnotherapy Session?

In your first appointment, you and your therapist talk about:
What you would like help with
What you have already tried
Any worries you have about hypnotherapy
You will also have the chance to ask questions, so you understand exactly what to expect.
During a session, you will usually:
Sit or lie down somewhere comfortable.
Be guided through simple breathing and relaxation.
Listen as your therapist uses calm, clear suggestions and images linked to your goals.
You can speak at any time and you are fully able to move or stop the session if you wish. Afterward, you might talk briefly about how it felt and what you noticed.

Is Clinical Hypnotherapy Right for You?

Clinical hypnotherapy is not the main service at Tailored Counselling Solutions, but it can be a useful extra tool for some people. It may be worth considering if:
You already know the issue you want to focus on, and
You like the idea of using deep relaxation and focused suggestions to support change.
If it is not right for you, that is completely fine. Counselling on its own can still offer strong support for most difficulties.
