Counselling for Adults in Bridlington
Life can feel like hard work when you are trying to cope with everything on your own. You might look like you are “managing” on the outside, but inside you feel anxious, low, stressed or stuck. You may be holding things together for everyone else and have little time or space for yourself.
Adult counselling at Tailored Counselling Solutions in Bridlington gives you a calm, confidential space to talk about what is really going on, with someone who is trained to listen and understand. Together, you and your counsellor work at your pace to make sense of things and find practical ways forward.
Is Adult Counselling Right for You?
Counselling can help if you are:
Feeling anxious, worried or on edge
Struggling with low mood or loss of interest in life
Under a lot of stress at work, home or in a caring role
Coping with grief, loss or big life changes
Stuck in unhelpful patterns in relationships
Living with the impact of past trauma or painful memories
Feeling lost, overwhelmed or “not yourself”
You do not need to be in crisis, and you do not have to have the “right words”. If you want things to feel different, that is enough reason to reach out.
What Happens in Counselling?
Counselling is your time, focused on you and what you need.
In your sessions you can:
Talk openly about your thoughts, feelings and worries
Explore what might be sitting underneath how you feel now
Learn simple tools to manage stress, anxiety and low mood
Look at patterns that keep you stuck and try new ways of responding
Think about what you want from life and how to move towards it
Samantha uses a tailored approach, drawing on different types of therapy to match your needs, instead of using a one-size-fits-all method. You stay in control of the pace and what you wish to share.
Your First Session
It is normal to feel nervous about starting. The first appointment is a slightly longer assessment session (around 80 minutes) so you have enough time to:
Explain what has brought you to counselling
Talk about what you have already tried and what has or hasn’t helped
Think about what you would like to change or feel differently about
Ask questions about how counselling works
After this, you and Samantha agree the best way forward. Ongoing sessions are usually 50–55 minutes, often once a week, for as long as they feel helpful.
How Counselling Can Help You
Over time, adult counselling can help you to:
Feel heard, understood and less alone with your problems
Make sense of strong emotions and feel less overwhelmed
Handle everyday stress more calmly
Change unhelpful patterns in how you think, feel and react
Build confidence, self-worth and clearer boundaries
See new options and next steps, instead of feeling stuck
You may not be able to change what has happened, but you can change how you live with it and how you move forward.
In-Person and Online Counselling
You can choose:
In-person sessions in Bridlington – a quiet, private space away from home
